Benjamin Franklin gives Mary writing tips at a Franklin School event in Rockville, Maryland

Hello Readers & Writers,

Are you curious about writing and publishing?

Writing's been one of my favorite things to do for a long time. When I was seven, I created a tiny book about a girl and her pet donkey. "Revising" consisted of tearing it apart and taping it back together.

Now I write picture books, poetry, and novels for kids. I also write about family-friendly programs and exhibits for The Washington Post and review children's books for Washington Parent.

Do you like to write? Click on activities for some writing suggestions. If you have questions or comments, please contact me at mary@maryquattlebaum.com.
